Ride screens · iPhone & Android

Which zones the effort went into

A ride is not one heart rate, it is a distribution. This screen shows the zone you are in right now in that zone’s colour, and underneath, five bars sized by how long you have spent in each.

What it shows

  • Current beats per minute, tinted by zone, with the zone number and name
  • One bar per zone, scaled against the busiest zone rather than ride length
  • The bpm range each zone covers
  • Average and peak heart rate for the ride

Scaling the bars against the busiest zone rather than total ride time means the shape is readable a few minutes in, instead of five stubs beside one long bar.

Zones are worked out from a maximum heart rate you set once in the app. The watch app uses the same five-zone scale, read from your Garmin profile, so "zone 3" means the same thing on both screens.
